The Drop 2025 - Ripple summaries
Blended Finance for the Transition
The Ripple focused on ways to finance tech for climate and energy challenges.
Members talked through real cases, like funding EV charging networks and big science projects that need hundreds of millions to get going. Everyone agreed there isn’t one clear path—every country and project needs a mix of grants, venture loans, and sometimes government help.
Key conclusions stood out:
It takes many types of funding to fill the gaps
Public backing and private cash both matter
Mastering the paperwork is tough but worth it for credibility
Partnerships—across borders and sectors—pay off
The Ripple made it clear: if you want to build something great for the climate, you’ve got to be flexible, get creative with finance, and learn from others. Chasing public contracts and staying open to alternate funding models could make all the difference.
